Turtle

My aunt, who I assume still lives, had this turtle... I met her once, when I and my mother went to San Francisco to visit bits of her family. I haven't seen any of them since, really. (Except for one, who I'd rather gut than name, since the latter's a grace given to decent human beings)

But this here's a good memory. I can remember what her yard smelled like: Orange trees. And Turtle, of course, which is a singular scent, very interesting in a minute sort of way. He would put his head out into the hose stream and close his little eyes while scooting forward. She insisted on taking a picture, though it was nearing the end of the days that that whole process of posing with a big old pandering smile appealed to me. So I ignored her, and let her take the picture, resulting in this.

It's a little strange to post a picture of myself, but... I like it. It's a good memory. Before Mum met Bob and things spiraled into nastyness. This was before anyone knew me, before I met Ryan or Avi, or anyone. I was wearing a Little Mermaid t-shirt, and osh'b'goshes, and I'm fairly certain there was some manner of Day-of-the-Week clothing on my person.

Sorry for the ranting I get a little chatty. But I like this better than blogging, honestly, and people can skip this if they like. Mostly I just like to get it down, so that I can erase it later if I feel like it, and be all badass XD
